There’s no real easy way to tell you this, so we’re just going to come out and say it. McDonald’s in the USA has created a new, silicone utensil that lets you insert french fries for prongs. And then you use it to eat. This half-fork, half fries hybrid has been introduced to go along with the brand’s new signature burgers and chicken sandwiches.
So what exactly is it that one would eat with this “Frankenfork”? Well, the idea is that you would use the Frork to scoop up any toppings that may fall off during the course of eating a meal.
The brand claims it’s just doing what it needs to do to ensure customers enjoy every last bite. It serves no true purpose, and they’re more than happy to admit that, which in a way makes the Frork seem “in your face” cool.
The real reason behind this little contraption is to bring attention to some of the new Signature recipes the brand is offering. The new items are based on consumer input which, as we all know, is very important these days. The recipes are more like toppings or flavors and can be ordered on both chicken and beef sandwiches. The flavors include:
Pico Guacamole: Smooth and creamy meets chunky and spicy with white cheddar cheese, guacamole made with 100 percent Hass avocados, freshly prepared Pico de Gallo, crisp leaf lettuce and creamy buttermilk ranch sauce made with real buttermilk and sour cream blended with shallots, garlic and spices. Served with a fresh lime wedge.
Sweet BBQ Bacon: Sweet barbecue meets savory, with grilled onions, thick-cut Applewood smoked bacon, creamy white cheddar, barbecue sauce, all topped with golden crispy onions.
Maple Bacon Dijon: A satisfying combination of sweet and savory, with grilled onions, thick-cut Applewood smoked bacon with sweet maple seasoning, white cheddar, crisp leaf lettuce and a creamy Dijon sauce.
Customers who order a signature sandwich will receive free fries, and soft drink and of course a Frork to make the experience even more enjoyable, because who doesn’t want a silicone french-fry fork to elevate a meal?
What do you think? Is the Frork here to stay? Crazy idea? Genius? If you could create something for a restaurant along the similar lines of the Frork, what would it be? Let us know in the comments!
