Ahhhh the burger bun – that bastion of bread that surrounds out beloved burger patty at all costs and maintains the integrity of our toppings with each and every bite.
Ok, we kind of played up our buns there. But in all reality, as you know, burger buns are just bread… but shaped to fit hamburger patties.

With a solid exterior and soft, airy interior, buns are an ideal way to handle even the thickest of burgers. The hard outer “shell” makes it easy to grip your burger while the soft interior makes it easy to take bites while ensuring everything stays in-tact…mostly.
Of course, there will be times when burger buns fail and toppings slip out, but for the most-part, buns keep your hands clean and give you control over your burger. No, it’s not a very technical thing, but hey – you have to have something to hold while you eat your juicy, topping-filled burger right? You might as well use something that works well and is edible!
Burger Buns Can Add Flavor
Burger buns aren’t just a great way to eat your juicy, flavorful burgers – they’re a great way to add flavor as well. Some companies flavor their burgers on the outside with things like poppy seeds, herbs, caramelized onions and a few other items. Other companies choose to flavor their burger buns by altering their dough recipe slightly and adding ingredients to boost the flavor. These things can include honey, onions, pepper flakes, roasted garlic – basically, anything that can be included in the dough/bread recipe that can add flavor without compromising the quality of the bread.

Burger Buns Are Carbs
Carbs are evil! Carbs are brain food! The argument over whether carbs are good, or bad, for you has been waged for quite some time now. Regardless of whether carbs are healthy or not, one thing is for certain – when carbs are in a burger bun, they taste good! We suspect that carbs balance out the protein of the meat and the crispness of the veggies, but obviously, there’s no scientific proof of that – just a whole lot of burger sales on our part.
