If there’s one thing that can be said about the Taco Bell brand it’s that the company is ambitious. In the recent past, the taco brand leader has been at the forefront of innovation that hasn’t just earned it the attention of the media, it’s got customers buying more than ever.
Now, Taco Bell is poised to open over 100 locations in for major markets over the next five years to give itself a 30 percent increase in its number of locations globally.
The countries that Taco Bell will be growing into at an accelerated pace:
- Brazil
- Canada
- China
- India
The reasons for choosing these four countries are very obvious. Each has considerable economies – with China and India being the big names in that category. But these countries also have a very youthful population which has been a cornerstone of Taco Bell’s growth.
Ambitious Menu. Ambitious Growth.
So what’s behind this ambitious growth strategy? Well, the company has pledged to increase sales from $10 billion to $15 billion globally by the year 2022. In that time, the company is also striving to create 100,000 new jobs around the world.
Part of the plan includes expansion in the United States. Sales growth in the U.S. has been at 8 percent in 1Q of 2017. New menu items that have resonated with millennials are partially to thank for that. They’ve latched onto the $1 Double Stacked Tacos, Naked Chicken Chalupas, and Triple Double Crunchwrap and don’t seem to be slowing down at all.
While Yum! Struggles as a Whole, Taco Bell Breaks out of the Shell
Taco Bell is among the best-performing companies in the Yum! Brands portfolio. Other sister companies like Pizza Hut are in decline. While Yum! Brands is pouring millions to give the brand an upgrade, Taco Bell needs no such favors. Hopefully the return on this latest investment will be enough to keep the other brands growing into the future.
Fans of Taco Bell in the four countries we mentioned are eagerly waiting for the company to make its move toward growth. With the right audience and the right spending power, it looks like a win-win for the company and its uber-loyal fans.
What would you like the future to hold for Taco Bell? Are you a fan? Could you go your entire life without taking a bite out of a Naked Chicken Chalupa?
